The one who was chosen

I want to be the one who was chosen,
 
 On purpose,
 
 The one who was good enough,
 
 To wait for.

The one who was looked at
 
 As the most valuable of women,
 
 Worthy enough
 
 To concede any other temptation,
 
 And leave the others behind.

I want to know how it feels,
 
 To be exactly what you desire,
 
 On purpose, knowingly, despite everything,
 
 The one you choose,
 
 Above anyone else.

Not meanwhile, not in the heat of the moment, momentarily..
 
 Not because I'm available, comfortable,
 
 A wise choice, a default gateway.

I want to be the one who is chosen,
 
 In total certainty and clarity.
 
 The one who is good enough, pretty enough,
 
 Sexy enough, fascinating enough,
 
 To risk everything for,
 
 Even your cherished freedom.

The one who is enough,
 
 To be the one.
